Week 10: Train Blocked-out Environment & Camera Set-up

Introduction:

For this week’s blog post, I’ll be talking about how I went about modeling my train environment and setting up my cameras. Lastly, I’ll be listing down my objectives to complete by next week.

This Week’s Task:

To start this week off, I began by browsing through Google for inspiration for trains’ interior design, seeing what objects I needed to include in my environment.

After having a quick browse of what i needed to include in my train environment, i made a start on modelling my environment, beginning with the exterior design, which consisted of four walls, a floor, a ceiling, and door and window borders.

Once I finished modelling the exterior design, I moved on to the interior design. The only object i imported into this scene was the chair, which I duplicated several times. The other objects, such as the poles, and side glass required simple shapes, so I thought I’ll just quickly model them myself.

Camera Set-up:

Now that I’ve finished modelling the entire train environment, I was ready to create the cameras and position them in their correct location. To know where to position them, I re-visited my storyboard animatic and used it as a reference.
