Week 5: Storyboard Animatic

Introduction:

In this week’s blog post, I’ll be talking about how I went about creating my storyboard animatic, and how I went about finding my character rigs. Lastly, I’ll be listing my objectives for next week.

This Week’s Task:

As mentioned in last week’s blog, my objective for this week was to create a storyboard animatic. I worked around the narrative brainstorm that I created last week, drawing one scene for each idea noted. To help with my drawing, I began by browsing through Google for reference images to use as inspiration for my storyboard scene.

Storyboard Animatic:

I drew my storyboard in Adobe Photoshop, using my graphic tablet. For each drawing, I imported the reference images and lowered the opacity to 80%, allowing me to draw over each reference image on a new layer.

Using Photoshop to Create Storyboard Animatic

Once I had completed the drawing for all frames, I exported the frame animation as a video, creating my storyboard animatic.
